The purpose of these missions is the identification of problem areas in matters of heritage preservation, study of the current state of monuments, preparation of detailed recommendations and reports, as well as transmitting of relevant documentation and recommendations to the executive authorities and, if necessary, to UNESCO.
ICOM Russia carries out similar missions at request of the public, local authorities or museums or other cultural institutions in need of help.
